Love it or Hate it
I know all the arguments against it. I know it is horribly commercialised and often tacky, but I just can't help it - I love Valentines Day. Well let's be honest, I love any day when I get spoilt and made a fuss of. These beautiful flowers arrived this morning along with a teddy and a very tasty card and he's cooking me scallops (my very favourite food ever) and steak, followed by Ben and Jerry's and all to be washed down with pink fizz. So huge brownie points for him..........
.............. but no brownie points for me (or for Play.com) - his present didn't arrive.
Had Joe's for lunch (Joe's Special - named after a cook in the staff canteen at Orpington Hospital, cheese on toast with onion and tomato) and watched the second episode of Life on Mars. This is genius television, it transports you back (along with DI Tyler) to the 70's, a time when everyone smoked, women police officers were called plonks, women and ethnic minorities were second class citizens and people drove Ford Cortinas. The cars were awful, the hair was awful and the clothes were awful. On the plus side, it might be a cliche but life really was so much simpler then (or has time re-written every line?), the music was amazing and I was young. Makes me long to be 14 years old and to do it all again - well maybe not all of it.
Laryngitis hanging around - J says I sound like Rod Stewart after a hard night on the fags and booze, but I think I sound like Marge Simpson. Back at work though, so.....
I'm away to continue playing catch up after 2 days off.

Happy Valentines Day!! I'm sure J was right about Rod Stewart but I always thought that that was Bonnie Tyler!

You'd love Vegas, It's not all like CSI! If only for LOVE the Cirque du Soleil, Beatles show. Because yours is not the only family that has had discussions on Beatles lyrics!!
Keep checking the blog for pics etc.
Yes I did check out Strangeday and they are very good sounding. Too many bands these days forget what good rock music is all about. I especially liked Hide of the couple I listened to and linked to the you tube promo.
You must be a very proud 'Mothership'! I'm putting the link on my blog so VEGAS KID can have a listen, he will definitely approve!
In the interests of honesty and guilt it was me that commented anonymously on Toto is Back about Liverpool etc! Oops!
