On the origins of Mothership

This was taken moments after I first qualified for the monicker of Mothership!

The Childers have called me many things over the years, most of which I know about and some of which are publishable on the internets. As in most cases I began as Mummy and as each succesive Childer approached puberty I transmogrified into Mum, (it was probably around this time that the unpublishable names would have started to be muttered under the breath or behing closed doors!). Oneson tried my christian name out for a while around age 3 or 4, but soon got bored with it. Threeson called me Moth for a while which I always quite liked and collectively we (Dadhead and I) are often known as The Rents. Of course in extremis (rage/exasperation/humiliation etc) I become Mother!

It was Oneson who coined the Mothership and when asked whether the context in which he was using the name was as in an alien craft, or as in your worship or lordship, without even the merest hesitation he replied, "no it is as in as big as a ship". The cruelty and pain one endures - giving birth pales into insignificance.................

Possible revenge is only tempered by the likelyhood that Oneson is more than capable of hacking my humble blog and wreaking havoc. Oh and of course by maternal and christian love and forgiveness

I think you've done a pretty good job, and I wouldn't worry about oneson and his ability to fiddle with your blog.

Just remind him that in the event of any treachery, there are bigger and nastier things out there on the internet, and I'm several of them ;-)

I quite like the name he coined for me too. (well, technically it was AOL when they picked my username, but he called me it first!)

I'm the king of nicknames. Yes. Yes I am.

I coined:
Mothership
Dadhead
'Rents (although I did steal this from elsewhere)
MEvans
Elbs
Elbsy
Eleany
Poppy
Fizzle
Cecilpillar
Jubnee
Nubjee
Pumbino
Bobs
Bobcat
Wedgieking (I think)
Kidsis

And probably more..

I think it's because I get borded of names. The same motivation leads me to corrupt the Inglish language.
